Physical activity, training or exercises?

The body was created to be in motion and most of us are at our best both physically and mentally when we use it regularly.

  • Physical activity is all body movement we do during the day and you get positive health effects from everything you do.

  • Physical exercise and training is planned movements to improve or maintain functions such as walking, running, carrying, lifting or doing sports or outdoor activity. In general, you get better at what you practice. Physical exercise also has other positive health effects on body and mind.

  • Specific training often has a more focused goal than general physical training. It can be related to sports such as kicking a ball with the left leg, making a feint in handball or improving your technique in badminton. It can also be regaining a body function after injury or illness.
